The Infrastructure Engineer works alongside both the escalation support and Delivery aspects within the IS Server team to implement, manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot and support internal and hosted Server and Application environments.

The position requires implementing new system hardware and software, and developing operating procedures and policies as needed or requested. This person is required to be adept at monitoring the on-going operation of the environments and providing utilisation reports to identify problems and corrective actions as needed.

Responsibility to develop and maintain the Server estate to leverage the best performance, utilisation, availability and features for the business.

This person will be asked to participate in various project teams to support deployments, internal projects, or developing new offerings or solutions. This person has to be willing to work off hours (including holidays and weekends) in support of changes and upgrades as well as problem determination tasks.

This is a specialist role that demands high levels of commitment, ownership, enthusiasm and pride with the drive to make a difference.

Key responsibilities of role:
Monitor local system operations and investigate system issues (Solarwinds/Puppet, BMC Remedy ADDM)
Attend and support system planning meetings
Perform preventive maintenance and tune monitoring
Support statistics report generation
Conduct operational and integration problem investigation and resolution
Responding to support calls, managing incidents within the ticketing system and providing resolution to issues and documenting solutions within ticketing system
Perform daily system checks
Utilize performance optimization tools to ensure high availability and optimum performance
Provide on call, level 2/3 escalation support for operational issues and outages
Continual Service Improvement responsibilities for the Server Estate
Work closely with Design team to enhance, expand and implement new Server and application solutions and platforms
Implementation of business applications and services running on a RedHat Linux OS
Undertaking of IT Infrastructure project work e.g. upgrades and new systems
Deployment of project or change approved work to production with full documentation and initial handover support
Participation in call-out rota if required.
