We are a credit card provider who put our customers at the heart of everything we do and we achieve that through the people we employ.

We are specialists in the non-standard credit market, lending responsibly to over 2 million customers, whilst providing information and support to help them manage their finances.

Our business has grown so much since we started in 2002 that our parent company, Provident Financial, is now listed in the FTSE 100. We have achieved this by encouraging our employees to put ideas forward, make decisions and constantly improve the service we provide for our customers.

We are now looking for an experienced candidate to come and join the Learning and Development team in Chatham as a Fresh Start Operations Trainer. Fresh Start predominantly focuses on the collection of purchased debt from Provident, but 2016 has seen us compete for more purchases in the market place, leading the department to be recognised as one of Vanquis’ fastest growing initiatives.

This brand new role will require the successful candidate to design and deliver learning and development initiatives, deliver the induction training for Fresh Start and analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of all learning interventions.

Communication is key in this role as you will be responsible not only for the delivery of induction training, but also be the key contact for Fresh Start to understand the training needs of the area and to design and deliver bespoke learning activities.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Delivering the induction training and coaching individuals to achieve specific targets and develop skills to increase performance.
• Responsible for the people management of any training group
• Conducting training needs analysis with key stakeholders and carrying out formal training evaluation after training delivery.
• Design and delivery of learning initiatives to support the growth and development of the Fresh Start team
• Ability to manage large groups of people of all levels, knowledge and backgrounds
• Design, delivery and evaluation of e-learning courses (specifically using Articulate Storyline)
• Communication of complex information simply and effectively, both verbally and written.

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience in learning and development is essential, as is a recognised learning and development qualification such as CIPD or TAP.
• Experience in the financial sector specifically around debt management would be advantageous but is not essential
• Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt to your audience
• The ability to remain calm and have patience when dealing with larger groups of trainees
• Demonstrate enthusiasm and positivity
• Have willingness to learn and act on feedback
• Identify potential risks to the business and act accordingly

The normal working shift is Monday – Friday between the hours of 8am – 5.30pm, however your contract will stipulate 8am – 8pm as you will need to meet the requirements of this business. This may also include weekend work and travel!

In order to apply for the role and to find out more about us please visit our careers page www.vanquiscareers.co.uk.

Please note: Once the closing date has been reached we will review all CVs. Should we wish to progress your application we will contact you within four weeks of the closing date. If you do not hear from us within four weeks of the closing date, unfortunately, your application has been unsuccessful.

On occasion we identify alternative roles that may be suitable for applicants and therefore we may retain your CV for up to 6 months for this purpose. If you do not wish us to contact you or hold your CV on file for 6 months please contact us.
