A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an PR Manager to join our small PR team here at Saga in Folkestone. As part of the Group Communications team the PR Manager takes responsibility for the full range of Saga Services PR activity, delivering a PR communication plan that is fully integrated with Group Communications activity and the product plans for the Services business. The role will also be required to support other areas of the business as required.

The manager will develop a PR plan and drive a programme of research and campaigns using the full PR tool kit, which will help to establish Saga as the pre-eminent expert in understanding and serving the insurance needs of the over-50 age group. The PR plan and its outputs will be measured against targets for coverage set by product.

Close liaison with other parts of Saga (Group, Publishing, Money and Travel) is essential.

The PR manager is responsible for dealing with crises communications and brand threats as and when they arrive and to maximise opportunities for positive reactive PR, for example new legislation in Saga’s markets.

The role involves the management of one assistant press officer alongside any external support.
