We are a unique charity based in Tonbridge, looking for a dynamic, highly capable and versatile Finance Manager for an immediate start. (Initially for a 6 month contract-possibility of permanent role).

Reporting to the CEO, the role will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the finances, taking responsibility for the monthly management account duties, developing MIS reports and internal procedures. In summary the main duties will include:

-Preparing the monthly management accounts, reporting on variance / trend analysis and key performance measures within the Trust, supporting cost control and risk management
-Budgeting and forecasting / petty cash and cash flow / managing purchase and sales ledgers
-Treasury management including managing investment of the Trust’s cash balances
-Statutory accounting and year-end audit process
-Providing financial advice on day-to-day finances, the strategic plan, fund raising, projects and other matters
-Managing monthly payroll and the company pension scheme
-Attending monthly financial meetings as necessary, assisting the CEO with financial projects and research
-Liaison with Trustees, staff and local authorities and providing day-to-day advice on a range of financial issues

As the primary finance contact, the role is hands on and you will be comfortable managing relationships with key stakeholders. The charity is keen to expand and you must have a demonstrable commercial acumen and keenness to support the growth through the provision of meaningful financial reporting and narrative. Experience in a similar role is key.

You will have a naturally affable and approachable personality and have the gravitas to manage the finances for the Trust in a measured manner. Excellent planning, communication and analytical skills are a must for this role. You will be AAT qualified (ACCA/CIMA would be beneficial as would industry experience). Experience using Sage software is essential, however we are interested to hear from candidates who have exposure to web-based accounting packages such as Xero.

Hours are 37.5 per week, Salary £30,000 per annum (negotiable for the right candidate). This position is for an immediate start and it may possibly lead to a permanent role.
