Volunteer Coordinator
A FLEXIBLE AND REWARDING PART-TIME POSITION
Hours: 20 hours per week (flexible working pattern available)
Weeks: 39 weeks per year (term-time only)
Area: This role currently covers West Kent and East Sussex; specifically Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Crowborough. Access to and use of a car is essential for this role (mileage expenses paid)
Office: linked to the Maidstone office
Salary: £7,589 per annum
Proposed start date: November 2016
Closing date: 2nd October 2016
About the role
We are looking for an exceptional person, who is ready to make a difference!
As a Volunteer Coordinator you will have the ability to match the skills and energy of your volunteers with primary school children who are struggling with their reading.
You must be professional and inspiring and have a pro-active attitude. We are looking for someone to drive forward volunteer recruitment for the charity across Kent, East Sussex and the surrounding areas, as well as support these volunteers in their school placements. You will need to be an effective communicator, who can build trust within the school environment and provide ongoing support for volunteers so they can work confidently with local children.
The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for;
• Targeted volunteer recruitment
• Volunteer placements and observations
• Volunteer retention and recognition
• Volunteer and school relationship liaison
• Building relationships with external partners
As a natural problem solver, you will enjoy the challenges that this role presents because your support will make a direct impact for the children, the schools and the volunteers you come into contact with every day.
