An exciting vacancy has arisen for a Business Development Manager working for an industry leader in quality home heating solutions, offering a comprehensive product range for domestic home heating and light commercial applications.


This Business Development Manager role will cover the South of England and will promote all company products to the market and increase market share by selling to new customers and achieving company objectives set out by the management team. Promote the brand and values to all client groups.



This represents an excellent opportunity to work for a Company who is a leading heating manufacturer, with a product portfolio that includes domestic gas boilers, light commercial gas boilers, unvented cylinders, water heaters, solar thermal collectors and air source heat pumps.



Main Responsibilities:


•Act as corporate champion for new, potential and existing customers
•Ascertain and investigate new routes to market for existing products
•Identify new social housing providers who would benefit from the existing products
•Build relations with major contractors in your geographical area
•In conjunction with the RSD develop specifications for products that meet the customer’s requirements.
•Identify and target specifiers ie Architects, Consultant Engineers, Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Design & Build Contractors and Quantity Surveyors
•Identify and gain specification with regional House builders.
•Build relations with National Merchant contract AND estimating teams sharing market intelligence and obtaining quote log.
•Construct and deliver tailor made product and service presentations on request to each customer group.
•Share market intelligence with your ASM colleagues.
•Assist with setting up and attending exhibitions as required.
•Updating CRM system with customer reports and new contacts as well as existing contacts.



Qualifications, Skills & Experience


•Field specification sales experience, particularly in the heating industry.
•Experience within the social housing sector with a knowledge of European procurement process.
•Broadly conversant with current installation regulations and working practices of Social housing providers as well as Private Developers.
•Ability to self-motivate to achieve and exceed targets, maintaining professional standards of behaviour and attitude, as well as keeping order and discipline.
•Good working knowledge of the heating industry.
•Good geographical knowledge of the area.
•Ability to deal with a variety of issues, demonstrating effective time management, organizational skills and problem solving ability
•First class telephone skills – polite manner, customer responsive attitude.
•Excellent presentation skills.
•Excellent communication skills – written and oral.
•Good negotiation skills.
•Strong analytical skills, financial awareness and keen commercial acumen
•Good technical understanding of boilers and heating systems.
•IT literate with ability to learn new systems and to present data in a clear and unambiguous format
•Full and clean valid driving licence.

•High level of commitment, energy and enthusiasm.
•Ability to self-motivate and work well both alone or as part of a team.
•Self starter with a proactive attitude to all tasks.
•Strategic thinker with ability to implement and make things happen.
•Clarity of thought with the capacity to understand the impact of own department on other functions within the company,
•Ability to deal with customers in an effective and diplomatic manner.
•Smart, presentable appearance, consistent with professional image.
