Events/Weddings Assistant/Trainee Manager
Due to planned expansion we have a space for another Event Manager in the future, therefore we are looking now for someone to train into this role.
Job Description
Your role will be to play a huge part in organising weddings from initial viewing right through to the day itself, including all the customer liaison, admin work, invoicing, and organisation that is involved with this. You will work as part of a sub team of up to 6 admin/events staff, initially directly under the Event Manager, as part of an overall team of 35-40.
Office days include all basic administration, from table/room bookings to social media management, website editing and some accounts/invoicing admin. On event days; assist in setting up the venue, including laying tables and decorating as necessary, as well as occasionally assisting with bar work. Our Event staff must be well presented ambassadors for our team, with good hospitality skills, who are confident and comfortable talking with customers.
Room to Grow
Applicants should aspire to reach junior management level within 6-12 months and progress through management levels in the future - candidates for this role will be specifically selected based on their potential to join the management team.

Busy pub, restaurant and wedding venue overlooking the Swale Estuary encompassing restaurant, bar and superior accommodation for 40+. We are a successful family run business and use beef, lamb, and game of exceptional quality from our own farm. Between 40-150 covers daily, monthly events/functions, outside catering and around 80 weddings per year (100 P/A projected in the next 2-5 years). We were awarded Best Dining Pub in Kent 2014 and were awarded our first AA Rosette in September 2015. We are growing year on year and have several expansion projects planned/underway.
Job Specifications
5 days a week, to include Saturdays and average 2-3 evenings (finish 8-9pm) a week. Hours 45-55/week.
Lunch provided by our chefs
Days flexible, to include 1 weekend day + 1 week day off.
28 days holiday per year including Christmas Day - 30th December.
Staff discount up to 20%

Candidate requirements
Prior experience or transferable skills a bonus although candidates personality and attitude is more important. We are looking for someone committed to giving high quality service to our clients, hard working, self motivated, have good communication skills and be an exemplary team player.
Good computer skills, people skills and personal presentation vital. A full driving licence and own transport is essential.
