The Caldecott Foundation has established homes in Kent and the Midlands and is expanding our provision, opening new homes nationally
We are looking for a number of dynamic and experienced Residential Care Workers to join our teams in homes based in Kent
.
Residential Care Workers
Salary Range £17,161 - £20,858
+ sleeping in duties at £32.94
39 hours per week – On a rota system and include evening and weekend work
Candidates must have:
The Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young People Workforce, or equivalent, or willingness to complete
Previous experience of working in a children’s home, preferably within an EBD Setting/or experience supporting children and young people who have challenging behaviour and complex needs
Knowledge of the importance of protecting vulnerable young people and an understanding of the impact trauma can have on a child’s life
The ability to be flexible with working hours
Sound communication skills and be able to work within a team providing outstanding care
An understanding of how their own actions can affect those around them
Have the skills and enthusiasm to set boundaries, challenge unacceptable behaviour and be a role model to provide an environment in which the young people feel safe and supported
A full UK driving licence
Job Responsibilities:
To provide support on a shift work basis to a group of vulnerable young people who require high levels of supervision and support
To offer a caring, supportive and stable environment for the young people
Be committed to the young people’s wellbeing and act as a positive role model
Develop and sustain effective working relationships with the local community, colleagues and other agencies so as to promote collaborative working and partnerships
Be responsible for ensuring that the standard of care is at the highest in relation to the young people’s physical, behavioural and emotional needs
Assist and take part in activities in the home and outdoors
Contribute to the effective physical, social and emotional environment to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating atmosphere and help the young people build their confidence, self-esteem and essential life skills
To write reports, behaviour management & care plans
