Is this the most exciting opportunity currently available in the South East? We think so! Read on to find out why…

The Company
Ecoegg is a multi-award winning small but rapidly growing product and media company. We develop and market cutting-edge, innovative, eco-friendly FMCG & other household products.

Our office is a reasonably small but busy one and you’ll need stamina to keep up! Our Director was recently Kent Entrepreneur of the Year, we were awarded The Queens Award For Enterprise in Innovation in 2016 and because we are doing great things, we get a lot of attention from the national media. Our products are sold all around the world (in over 34 countries now!) in retail, mail-order and (excitingly!) on TV.

The role
This is an incredibly exciting and pretty unique role.

As part of the Product Development team you will be playing a leading role in sourcing, developing and bringing new, exciting, innovative products to market to complement our existing range and brands. Being a smaller business you will be expected to pitch in with a variety of tasks but all with a product focus, from testing and development, to literature creation. No two days will be the same.

You’ll help to identify product opportunities, to source, compare and choose suppliers and bring products to market quickly and efficiently. When you see a product you’ve helped to developed on a supermarket shelf or a TV screen, you’ll smile. Doesn’t that sound exciting? From nothing to an actual product – on the shelf of your local supermarket – and all because of you.

You will be a “can-do” type, happy to turn your hand to almost anything, getting “stuck in” to get the job done. Missing a deadline is not in your DNA.

Main tasks and responsibilities
Among other things, you will be responsible for the following:

• Working with the Product Manager to identify new product opportunities to extend or complement our existing range
• Sourcing, comparing and choosing suppliers for new products
• Devising and carrying out full test regimes for new products
• Working with suppliers to ensure that products are always of the highest quality, meeting our exacting standards
• Working with our graphic designer to create product packaging and instructions
• Researching and keeping up to date with industry standards and regulations
• Submitting new products to our clients and managing the Quality Assurance process

The Applicant
You will ideally be educated to degree level or have a CIM qualification in Marketing and/or product management.

We are looking for someone with drive, enthusiasm and the desire to work hard to get the job done and to be part of something special.

You’ll be a perfectionist, will always insist on doing things right (even when no-one is looking) and be excited to be part of a young, rapidly growing British success story.

We need someone with entrepreneurial spirit, who wants to witness the rapid growth of a new company from the inside.

Specifically, you will be/have:

• Superbly organised and efficient with a confident manner
• Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
• Good computer literacy with a knowledge of the Windows environment and its applications, especially MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work both as part of a team and on your own initiative
• A passion for innovation and good design
• A good understanding of the New Product Development process
