I have a fantastic prospect for a Second Line Support engineer to join a constantly busy support team in a forward thinking, technology focused managed-service provider. My client is based outside of Medway, Kent.
You will primarily provide 2nd Line Support, with opportunity to get involved with 3rd line infrastructure work. Personality is key and the right candidate will need to be suitably motivated, sociable and enthusiastic. This is a great opportunity for somebody who wants exposure to a number of technologies.
Ultimately, this is an exceptional position for any engineer looking to develop their technical skills, work with a number of clients on a number of upcoming projects, within a growing, experienced team.
Personal Requirements
* A driving license is essential as travel to customer sites will be required.
* Excellent technical and communication skills.
* Can-do attitude with strong customer services skills.
* A calm and patient manner whilst working under pressure.
* Previous experience working in a service desk role with a Managed Service Provider
Essential Technical Skills
* Microsoft Desktop & Office systems
* Microsoft Server and Virtualisation Technologies - Hyper-V administration
* Active Directory Administration
* Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN
* Working knowledge of Exchange
* Virtualisation Technologies - VMWare and Hyper-V Administration
* Support of hardware - printers, desktops and servers
Desirable Technical Skills
* Routers, switches, firewalls, wireless.
* Mobile devices/phones.
* Antivirus & Backup software
* Group Policy
