If you have an interest in Human Resources and are looking to build upon your strong administration skills, this is an ideal opportunity to join a supportive and busy team at the University of Kent.
We currently have two HR Assistant vacancies, both fixed term until 28 February 2017 - the posts are full-time, however, we would welcome your application if you are interested in working part-time hours.
The HR Assistant role will see you providing support to the existing HR Operational Services team, including dealing with straightforward HR enquiries, administration and data input into the existing PS Enterprise system.
Your excellent organisation skills will be necessary to manage a varied workload including such duties as processing resignations, terminations, paternity leave applications, special leave forms, as well as undertaking administrative tasks in relation to fixed term contracts, reference requests and probation records. A methodical approach and strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail will be an asset to you in this role.
If you have the skills and experience we are looking for, these vacancies offer a valuable opportunity to gain entry-level experience of HR administration and to build upon your career in a environment which provides excellent training, benefits and future prospects.
The Operations and Reward section of Human Resources comprises three teams with responsibility for HR Operations, HR Systems and Planning, and Reward. HR Operations are responsible for pre-employment checks, the issue of contracts, employee records and provision of support to the various committees which manage pay and promotions for all University staff.
The University of Kent is a major employer with around 3,000 members of staff, including more than 900 academic and research staff, and a full range of commercial services and administrative staff. Kent’s reputation as being a good place to work is reflected in its top ranking in the Times Higher Education’s (THE) Best University Workplace Survey for the second year running.
