An experienced control panel wireman is needed to join our in-house electrical engineering team and will be responsible for assembling motor control panels. These range in size from single starter motor control panels, small Form 4 control panels incorporating four or five starters to large multi-tier MCC control panels.

The role requires a qualified and experienced panel builder (preferably a time-served apprentice), used to working from electrical engineering drawings and with experience in 3 phase low voltage motor control panels.

The role requires somebody who is from a panel construction background and is self-motivated, team orientated and able to demonstrate initiative. As site work will be necessary from time to time for control fault finding, cabling and commissioning an ECS gold card is essential.

Experience of Autocad an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.

Full driving licence is essential.

Job Specification

* Ensure that your respective panels are completed to a satisfactory standard and that all issues arising during the assembly work are dealt with immediately and in a professional manner. Liaise with colleagues if necessary.

* Identify non-conforming items and ensure that a Non Conformance Report is raised if necessary in line with the company procedure.

* Ensure that all documentation used prior, during or resulting from the panel assembly work are controlled in accordance with company's quality, environmental and health and safety procedure and management system and are completed promptly.

* Ensure completion of timesheets.

* Ensure that the Control Panel Shop is maintained as a safe working environment.

* Liaise with the Electrical Engineering Manager to ensure that all electrical equipment is safe and serviceable.

* Ensure that all equipment dispatched from the Control Panel Shop has been appropriately tested and is accompanied by the necessary documentation.

* If deemed necessary by constraints of the business you may be required to carry out tasks outside of your core responsibility.

* Ensure compliance with the company's Quality Management system.

* Make yourself familiar with the contents of H&S Policies.

* Follow safe work procedures at all times.

* Use and operate work equipment in accordance with any training, instruction and information you have been provided with.
