Our client, a very successful educational establishment based in the Ashford area, has asked us to help recruit an Examinations Officer to commence work as soon as possible. This position is an exciting opportunity to take pivotal role within the clients’ administrative team.

Applicants will have:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Very good understanding of MS Office particularly Excel
• Good organisational skills
• Good analytical skills
• Ideally (but not essential) a background within education.

Examinations Duties:

• Ensure the school complies with all necessary regulations to ensure that students receive appropriate accreditation and certification.
• Facilitate the work of the examination boards enabling them to carry out their obligations to the school and provide the necessary certification.
• Liaise with students with exam entry statements and timetables.
• Have a strategic oversight of National Tests and examinations.
• Have a detailed working knowledge of the examination procedures making suitable arrangements for rooming, seating and invigilation.
• Ensure that invigilators fulfil their obligations in accordance with the examination board regulations.
• Liaise with the Site Team to ensure exam facilities are set up in accordance to requirements.
• Develop and monitor systems within the school to manage the essential collection of data, to ensure that all Board deadlines for administration purposes are met.
• Maintain cumulative records which can be used for monitoring progress in teaching/learning, and assist in target setting process.
• Enter and maintain candidate entry information onto the examination entry system and produce lists of candidate entry data for Heads of department.
• The checking and monitoring of all examination paperwork.
• Managing all examination result appeals process.
• Assist the Information Officer in the statutory data and information collation and return requirements for the school.
• Any other duties as directed by the Senior Management Team.
• Other Administrative tasks as they arise
The administration of school events, completion of mass mailings, and other administrative tasks, as they arise – either planned or ad hoc.

This position requires the following personal qualities and attributes:

• To communicate effectively, professionally and in a friendly manner with staff, suppliers, students and parents. To be an ambassador for the school in dealing with external persons, and to be an admired and respected member of the team by internal staff and students. To enjoy helping others. Able to cope with work pressure points, disruptions and things going wrong, in a professional, calm and measured manner

• To be highly motivated and positive towards the school’s goals. This position must enjoy completing their work in a professional and positive manner, relish solving problems and take pride in helping people, thus gaining the respect of all staff and students in the school. Any complaints or issues need to be raised with the Head of Finance & Operations

• To have a flexible approach towards work and working hours. Although the team should be able to cope with the required workload during the normal working hours, it is recognised that during unexpected staff absences or when things do not go to plan, flexibility will be required. This position demands flexibility in working hours so that tasks are completed, exchanging work time when busy for social time when not busy

• To be totally reliable with excellent time management skills. Once entrusted with a task, to efficiently use time to ensure that it is completed on time, or to raise with the Head of Finance & Operations the reasons why the task cannot be completed, at the earliest opportunity

• To be a team player. This position is part of a team with team tasks and responsibilities. The person must act and work as a team member as well as an effective leader of all finance, HR and administration tasks and staff


This is position is temporary but will be ongoing to permanent on a salary scale from 17,515 to £ 19,575.

The Successful applicant will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
