We are looking for a Communications Assistant to be based at our Ashford office.

We are looking for someone who is methodical and has excellent attention to detail to oversee effective management of MAF International's digital media library and assist the communications team in administrative tasks. This is an excellent opportunity to step into the world of charity communications and be an integral part of a busy communications team – ensuring that the exciting story of MAF’s impact is shared globally. 

The role will involve the daily management of the digital media library, including the uploading, labelling and archiving of media as required, ensuring that MAF fundraisers and staff can find everything they need with ease.




A quick learner, you will need to acquire a good understanding of MAF communication strategies and branding to inform management of digital images.




Acting as the gatekeeper and main point of contact for questions / issues related to the digital media library, you will need to liaise with MAF groups and communications staff to handle requests, and address queries and omissions relating to communications needs and assets.

You will have the opportunity to provide input into refining processes and the sharing of communications materials.

As this role is dealing with a vast amount of data you will need a strong understanding of data protection and consent procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and other organisational requirements.

A good communicator, you will assist in providing training in relation to the digital media library.

There will also be opportunities to engage in the spiritual life of MAF through your involvement in the prayer team, helping the entire organisation to pray meaningfully for MAF’s work.
There is an occupational requirement for the job holder of this position to be a committed Christian. The post holder will be expected to lead and take part in prayer and biblical reflection and to be a role model for the organisation in accordance with our Christian beliefs and standards in the workplace.

Essential:
Completed secondary education to A Level standard or equivalent, including GCSE English grade C or above.
Digital fluency across a range of platforms, inc. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and Zoom.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all stakeholders
Must be able to work well independently
Exceptional attention to detail
Excellent time management and prioritising
Some flexibility in working hours when necessary

Desirable:
Qualifications in English, Media Studies, Journalism or similar
Experience working in a busy office environment
Experience with digital asset management systems
Experience in cataloguing or metadata management
Data protection understanding and experience in application
Knowledge and understanding of communications and the media
An understanding of Christian ministry and mission
