We require a talented and self-driven individual to join our team as a Technical Sales Engineer. This role is predominantly office based but some travel for trade exhibitions and customer visits is required from time to time.

This is a varied role; however, the main responsibilities are to specify and prepare quotations against our customers’ requirements and to provide support in all technical aspects relating to the sales of Wire Belt products and our services.

Other responsibilities include:

• Providing technical advice to our customers and product problem solving
• Promoting new product ideas and the company brand to new and existing customers
• Training customers, distributors, and internal sales staff
• Offer equipment design advice to customers and OEMs
• Handling of product complaints
• Being the technical focal point on all engineering and technical issues for internal and existing customers
• Travelling to customer’s sites to conduct surveys and fault investigation

Previous experience of a Technical Sales role (or similar) is preferred along with a BEng degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, or sufficient industry experience. The successful candidate must have the ability to manage their time and workload effectively as well as the ability to communicate and interact with others at all levels, both internally and outside the company. Attention to detail is also a prerequisite for this role together with the ability to assimilate and learn technical information and communicate this effectively.

You will have strong customer service experience with a proactive approach and sales focus as well as a willingness to learn the industries we serve. Strong IT skills are also important to this role along with the ability to handle complaints and difficult situations. The ability to operate within a busy team environment to deadlines, whilst demonstrating relationship building skills are also a prerequisite. A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
