An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HR Recruitment Officer to join our Central Services team based in our Canterbury office. This role covers 08.30-17.00, Monday to Friday and is inclusive of a one hour lunch break.
Direction Law is a firm proudly built on relationships. With around 180 employees, and with over 45 years’ experience in providing a range of conveyancing and other legal services to private individuals, housing providers and business clients, our expertise and increased market share allow us to continually expand our business to meet the demands of our work providers and clients. We are therefore looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our business, who wish to be part of our success.
Key Duties of the Role:
• Managing the Firm’s recruitment life cycle
• Creating and implement effective on boarding plans
• Acting as point of contact for general staff queries
• Assisting with the HR self-service system
• Assisting with training and development programmes
• Preparing data for the monthly payroll
• Attending meetings as note taker
• Working closely with the team to promote good HR practice across the business
• Supporting improvements to HR efficiency and service
• Other reasonable duties to support the Central Services team
• Ensuring Firm policy and procedure is adhered to during the transaction;
• Participate in all training programmes initiated by the Line Managers;
• Report all issues of concern to the Head of Department or as they may direct;
• To administer daily work within the restrictions of GDPR, Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme and Solicitors Regulation Authority;
• To undertake additional tasks as deemed reasonable to meet the needs of the team in the delivery of excellent client service.
Requirements for the Role:
• Experience in the HR environment for a minimum of 12 months;
• CIPD Level 3 and be thinking of taking a further CIPD qualification to enhance your knowledge and skills ideally;
• Previous experience in a professional services setting, such as a law firm or accountancy practice, would be an advantage but not essential;
• Highly organised with your day to day work but at the same time be flexible in supporting the team and the wider business;
• Be confident in communicating with people face-to-face, on the telephone or by email, and be great at building professional relationships;
• Demonstrate good problem solving skills;
• Use your initiative appropriately and most importantly be a good multi-tasker;
• Have great IT skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. It would be an advantage if you have previously used a self- service HR system but not essential as we will provide you with the necessary training;
• Finally the ability to remain positive, good humoured and adopt a professional approach at all times is an absolute must. There is no doubt that HR can often be challenging!
