PHP Developer
Folkestone (3 days office / 2 work from home)

Our client in Folkestone, established for over 65 years, is going through a period of strong growth and modernisation, so are now looking to add three PHP Developers (ideally one senior and two Midweight) to their I.T. team. They have their own in-house ERP Software and now is the time to rewrite; utilising PHP, Laravel and AWS amongst other technologies. You will be involved in the entire development lifecycle from the start. This is a hybrid role, 3 days office-based, 2-days work from home.

Must have;

PHP, SQL, HTML, CSS, JS

Desirable;

Laravel, MySQL, Docker, Git, Apache, Rest APIs, jQuery

Nice to have;

AWS, Ruby, Mod_security

The role

To complete assigned Development tasks accurately and efficiently. To develop knowledge and experience in order to progress. To work on fixes and features of our client's own ERP software and to develop new products.

Main responsibilities

As a Web Developer, you will have the following key responsibilities

• Review current code, write new code

• Develop new product features, fix bugs, and optimise code performance and quality

• Communication with Technical Lead and senior team members to understand and further develop requirements

• Maintain transparent working practices and be able to explain design/concepts when asked

You will be confident contributing to the planning and management of development projects and capable of accepting responsibility for design and work.

You have good problem-solving skills and the ability to see problems from a user perspective. You are passionate about development with a drive to further your skills and learn new technologies. You are innovative, creative and seek out well-defined solutions to complex problems.
