Do you care passionately about providing the right support to a child to enable them to reach their full potential and lead a happy and contended life? This is the perfect role for someone wanting to join a small, friendly team where our Client is at the heart of family life.

Our client is a 9 year old boy with cerebral palsy who requires assistance with all mobility and personal care. You will also be required to accompany him to school and social activities in his adapted vehicle therefore a car driver is essential.  The role will also require you to be physically fit and in general good health.

This is a fulfilling role where Support Workers will be required to support our Client's therapy programmes such as physio, OT and SALT as well as support him with his social and emotional development and school work! Our Client is funny, warm and very interactive although he does struggle with change, so an empathetic approach is also required along with the willingness to join in on all his activities.

We are looking for Support Workers who are reliable and can offer flexibility as hours will vary during the school holidays.

Hourly Rates of Pay

Support Worker

Monday- Friday:           £15.00 per hour       Saturday and Sunday:  £17.00 per hour

Bank Holidays:              £19.00 per hour

Sleeping Night (22:00 – 07:00)

Monday – Friday:          £85.00 per shift       Saturday and Sunday:  £95.00 per shift

Bank Holidays:              1.5 times the usual shift rate

Hours 

Term Time

Support Worker:  Monday – Friday 07:00 - 09:30 and 14:30 - 20:00 (to include school runs)

Sleeping Night:    Monday – Friday 22:00 - 07:00                    

Non-Term Time:

Support Worker:  Monday – Friday 09:00 - 20:00

Sleeping Night:    Monday – Friday 22:00 – 09:00 (07:00 – 09:00 paid at Support Worker rate)

Experience & Qualities required for the role: 


Experience of working with children with complex care needs;NVQ Level 3 in Heath & Social Care or equivalent is desirable; Full, clean UK driving licence and happy to drive the Client’s adapted vehicle;Willing and able to implement the delivery of therapeutic plans, devised by our Client’s team of specialists, including attending and supporting with therapy sessions;Support our Client in his daily family life, school work and in his leisure and recreational activities;  Develop and maintain a close working relationship with the family, keeping them fully up to date with our Client’s daily activities and general wellbeing;Experience of working in a private family home would be beneficial but an appreciation of the sensitivity, confidentiality, respect and privacy of working within a home environment is essential; You will be required to attend all relevant training sessions and meetings as required and engage in regular contact with the Case Manager; Fulfil some client-related household tasks; Have good written and verbal communication skills and be proficient at record keeping;Be a caring and enthusiastic Support Worker who will ensure our Cient is comfortable, cared for and happy; Have the ability to offer flexibility with working times and hours; you will be required to get our Client ready for school and transport him to and collect him from school.  You will need to get him ready for bed in the evenings following his familiar routine; During night shifts, ensure our Client’s care needs are met as they arise.
