We are looking for a Lead Receptionist to be responsible for the leadership and supervision of a team of receptionists, ensuring all reception duties are performed effectively and to the required standard, meeting the objectives of the practice. Duties will include:
Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
Staff rotas
Ensuring cover is in place for all shifts
Creating new and updating existing reception protocols, and ensuring these are followed
Staff supervision
Staff training of new and existing staff
Answering all queries from reception team
Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
Input data into the patient’s healthcare records as necessary
The successful applicant will need strong leadership skills, have excellent communication skills, be able to work on their own initiative and be able to accurately relay information to the reception team as provided by the Practice Manager. The post holder will need to promote a positive working environment and will need to answer the phone during busy periods. It is important that the successful applicant has a good understanding of confidentiality.
Experience of working in a busy GP practice and use of EMIS Web and Docman is essential.
25 hours per week over 5 days. The surgery is open 8am-6.30pm.
