DEPUTY SITE MANAGER

£27,741 - £29,577 pa

Permanent position

37 hours per week. All year round.

Bradstow is a creative and unique residential school for children between the ages of 5 & 19. It is situated in 13 acres of parkland in Broadstairs, Kent. We seek to meet the needs of children and young people with autism and severe learning difficulties with associated behaviours that may be challenging using a Gentle Teach approach and engaging in reflective practice. We have achieved national recognition for our developments in Communication and Behaviour Management as well as having been awarded the Gold standard for the Investors in People accreditation.

Duties include:
• Deputise for the Site Manager in their absence, reporting to the SBM and Head Teacher where appropriate
• Take the lead role in managing the school vehicle fleet including maintenance, safety checks, and organising maintenance and repairs
• Manage the maintenance request database with the Site Manager to ensure tasks are allocated appropriately to the team
• Take a lead role in the day to day management of the school Water Management Plan
• Carrying out minor repairs to the site
• Operating and checking boiler and ventilation systems
• Check fire appliances and ensure they are serviced by the approved contractor
• Registered key holder and ensure the security of the premises
• Take steps to ensure the premises are free from hazards and safe, warm and secure for students, staff and visitors.

The hours for this post may include undertaking Saturday morning cover on a rota basis and undertaking call out duties during weekday evenings and weekends on a rota system.
