Quality Inspector

Ferdinand Bilstein are a global distributor of automotive parts with 175 years of history; there is an exciting opportunity for a Quality Inspector to join the team.
The role of the Quality Inspector is to ensure the quality of the Bilstein Groups individual products by performing technical sample inspections and that the related reports to evaluate the inspection results are completed accurately on each product.
The successful candidate will use a variety of measuring equipment from hand tools to modern hardness testing machines. The part will be checked against the supplier drawing and measurements recorded in a report, which is loaded to Pisa. Once the report is approved, utilising our ‘6-eye’ approval process which requires 3 different people to review it and sign it off for risk class 1 products, our Goods in teams around the world will then use these reports to inspect future deliveries.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Ensuring the quality of the Bilstein Groups individual products by performing technical sample inspections
• All product inspections to include a visual and physical
• Ensure the related reports that related to the inspections are completed accurately and in a timely manner
• Inspection of competitor samples
• Answering any internal technical queries

Qualifications required are:

• GCSE Maths & English Grade C or above.

Experience and skills required:
• Experience in a QC inspection role
• Experience and understanding in automotive inspections are desirable, but not essential
• Has an eye for detail
• Basic MS Office experience
• The ability to think review, analyse and interpret information and deliver complex information in a concise business relevant way
• Confidence to communicate and deal with all levels within the business
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Excellent organisational skills, ability to work to tight deadlines
