A Head Chef is required to join a dynamic and well established business in the heart of Canterbury, offering excellent food for their restaurant and other food spaces within their company.
In this role you will manage the restaurant as well as catering for a number of functions, whilst working alongside the Head of Operations to assist with the development of the function side of the business.
As an experienced Senior Sous or Head Chef you be able to manage a kitchen team, from recruitment, training and developing team members. You will lead the kitchen team to prepare and cook the food on offer, ensuring maximum efficiency and high standards of presentation are met.
You will be adept at creating, planning and preparing dishes and menus for the restaurant, functions as well as managing and monitoring budgets. As an experienced chef you will be creative, commercially minded, a passionate chef with excellent food knowledge aware of seasonality, local and fresh produce with a burning desire to provide outstanding food offerings.
About you:
* Advanced knowledge of cooking techniques and styles
* Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations in food hygiene and food allergies
* NVQ Level 2 in professional cookery or equivalent
* Level 2 in Food Safety
* Demonstrable experience of working in the catering industry either as a Senior Sous or Head Chef
* Experience of working within AA Rosette awarded kitchens (desirable)
* Post will require working regular evening and weekends, so a flexible approach is required
* Good communication skills, with previous management of people and budget skills
