Are you an experienced and qualified mental health practitioner used to providing one to one support to people with complex mental health conditions?

If so, this opportunity to join our Student Support & Wellbeing team providing advice and support for students who are experiencing mental health or wellbeing difficulties, could be the perfect next step for you.

The role will see you managing a demanding caseload, making assessments of risk and referring on as appropriate, so experience in risk assessment/ management and responding pro-actively to mental health emergencies is needed, along with excellent communication and prioritisation skills.

As Mental Health Adviser you will:

provide specialist advice and support to students with mental health difficulties
assess mental-health risk and take appropriate, timely action
assess the academic support requirements for each student and create Inclusive Learning Plans
undertake a range of administrative processes to ensure professional standards are upheld and the service meets quality targets

To succeed in this role you will have:

a first degree or equivalent qualification or experience, plus a relevant professional qualification in mental health
relevant experience of providing one to one support to people with complex mental health conditions
demonstrable experience of using counselling/advice and guidance skills to a high level in sensitive and complex cases
commitment to deliver and promote equality, diversity and inclusivity in the day to day work of the role
