Financial Controller

£45,000 to £55,000


Barker Munro Recruitment as working with an International Insurance organisation to recruit s Financial Controller. You will report to the Executive Director and Management Team to ensure accurate and timely financial information is reported for the Company.

Key Responsibilities:
• Production of monthly management accounts
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Account Reconciliations
• Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable management
• Submissions to HMRC for PAYE, VAT etc
• Drive forecasting for plans, cashflow, etc
• Facilitate review of P&L trends
• Oversight & support of HR department and activities
• Manage & develop finance team
• Manage insurances (using broker)
• Prepare board packs for management and board meetings

The candidate should be confident, independent worker, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment and a hard working individual with energy and motivation. Must have experience of project derived revenue and the associated treatment of work in progress.

Key Skills Required:
• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
• Be able to work to strict reporting deadlines
• You must be able to demonstrate good judgement skills showing sound and logical decision-making process
• Possess good time-management and organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and plan workflow
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Have an ordered approach to documentation and procedures
• Excellent accounting software user skills
• Good understanding of business and financial issues
• Combined accounting and finance experience in a commercial environment
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with consolidation of group financial statements
• Able to work on modern ERP & IT systems
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential

There is flexibility in this role to work from home. There will be a requirement to attend meetings in London and South East as required plus occasional visits to the Bristol office.
