We are looking for someone to help people with mental health needs to access and maintain appropriate accommodation, live more independently, and reduce future risk of housing issues including potential homelessness. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting others. In this community-based role, you will support people to help them access appropriate welfare benefits and other financial help, advice, and guidance, and signpost and refer them to more specialised services where relevant. You will also advocate on clients’ behalf, including obtaining expert legal advice.
You will be supported to manage your own caseload and balance the fine line between client-facing work and the necessary recording in this role.
Our mental health and housing service operates as part of Live Well Kent and Medway - a network of organisations working together to support vulnerable people.
The role requires:
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-The ability to handle conflicting demands.
-Experience in supporting people either with mental health needs and/or vulnerable groups in the community and working with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies.
Interview date: 5th November 2021
Contract: Permanent
Working Pattern: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility required
