Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client based in Sittingbourne, Kent for General Operatives / Yard Cleaners

The role entails:

- Manually sorting waste which is brought into the yard 
- Maintaining a safe working environment through ensuring that the areas are kept tidy and that all emergency exits are clear
- Sweeping, cleaning and picking litter where needed 
- Cleaning all barriers, signs and other market infrastructure as instructed and required 
- Ensuring that all incoming loads are compliant with Site Licence and permitted waste types 
- Litter picking all "Fall Out Areas" and fences
- Ensuring that any contamination, non-conforming waste, accidents, incidents, health and safety breaches and reported immediately to the Level 1 Supervisor or appropriate Manager
- Ensuring that all PPE and safety equipment are used at all times 
- Ensuring that Manual Handling requirements are met 
- Undergoing any relevant training

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

- Good communication skills 
- The ability to stay on your feet for extended periods of time 
- The ability to lift heavy objects 
- A "can do" attitude 
- Previous experience working in the waste industry would be beneficial but is not essential for this position 

The rate of pay for this position is £9.36 per hour + holiday pay paid via PAYE 

The hours of work are Monday to Friday 6am - 6pm (Weekend work may also be available)
