Financial Controller | Mid Kent | £60k - £65k + Bonus
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join a Global, market leading FMCG business who have seen rapid and sustained growth over the past ten years.
The key responsibilities of the Financial Controller will be to ensure that the Finance Department runs efficiently whilst ensuring that all underlying accounting records are accurate, timely and up to date.
Working closely with the parent company, the key responsibilities of the Financial Controller will be:
• Prepare and present the annual operating budget whilst liaising with department heads
• Prepare and present the annual 5-year strategic plan
• Review weekly / monthly statistical data e.g. weekly turnover reports, volumes by product, profit analysis etc
• Effectively manage working capital
• Monitor sales ledger and purchase ledger
• Review monthly VAT return & intrastat returns
• Review cashbook records and bank reconciliations
• Intercompany reconciliations for revenue, cost of sales, debtors, creditors and other expenses
• Arrange weekly forward exchange contracts and other Forex deals when required
• Cashflow forecasting
• Prepare and finalise IFRS statutory accounts within a strict timeline
• Manage the annual audit process with external auditors and tax advisors
• Manage general & credit insurance policy renewals
• Arrange lease finance for capital expenditure as appropriate
• Motivate, supervise and develop 6 members of finance staff across 2 sites
Skills and experience:
• Formally qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA
• Relevant experience gained within the FMCG sector
• Sound knowledge of IFRS
• Confidence to self manage the delivery of accurate and timely month/year end reporting
• Able to work in a fast paced, changing environment
• Advanced Excel skills to manage the large volumes of data
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are essential
• Approachable and adaptable
