Casual, Freelance and Contract Event Chefs Required
As a fast-growing prestigious event caterer, we require 6 month contract Event Chefs and freelance Event Chefs for 50+ hours a week to work alongside our existing team for the catering of weddings, corporate events and functions in our 4 sole catering venues and listed properties across Kent including Winters Barns in Canterbury, Marleybrook House in Preston Nr Canterbury, Hayne House in Saltwood and Mount Ephraim in Faversham.
We are an established event catering company that has gone from strength to strength and due to promotions within our current team, are looking to expand our current team.
The business prides itself on using as much local produce as possible and has gained a fantastic relationship with many of Kent’s best producers and suppliers.
You would be part of a team that is responsible for the smooth running and execution of large and small events with a team of chefs to support you. We are looking for a dynamic and disciplined Event Chefs preferably with outside catering and banqueting experience to join a highly motivated brigade. You will be professional, confident and have a welcoming personality. You will have the ability to work under pressure and possibly have experience working in a production kitchen.
You must have you own car as venues are not close to public transport
We require candidates who have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for the events industry. You must have a good knowledge of a variety of food offerings and great attention to detail.
The successful candidates will be encompassing the following as part of their role:-
Experience with cooking for small and large groups of people with a degree of knowledge towards planning and executing functions
Fantastic organisational skills
Hands on approach
Quick learner with the ability to adapt to extraordinary conditions
Ability to work under pressure
Originality: Able to create exciting new dishes and contribute dishes for the seasonal testing and other events
Innovative: keen to explore new food techniques, methods and presentation
Must be able to communicate in a positive, professional and courteous manner, both verbal and written, with all employees and others
Ability to lead the team when required at an event or in a given project
In terms of background, you will need to have worked in a catering establishment or organisation as a chef for a minimum of 3 years working predominantly with fresh produce.
If you match the following criteria, then this position may be for you:-
·Good knowledge of fresh food and cooking ability
·Excellent organisational skills/a real eye for detail
·You will be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment
·Work closely with the team to maintain and improve standards
·Be able to work on your own or as a team
·Work unsupervised if necessary and have experience of dealing with banqueting or group booking catering using fresh ingredients
