Our client is looking to recruit an ambitious, commercially minded and analytical Part Qualified Accountant Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of accounting which will see you gain the required experience you need to complete your studies. Your initial focus will be on aspects of the balance sheet including responsibility for the fixed asset register.
What will it entail?
• Monitoring, analysing and reporting on project costs incurred by the business and its subsidiaries
• Assisting on the formation of the annual fixed asset budget
• Contributing towards the monthly management reporting process, by preparing schedules, reviewing costs with managers and completing designated tasks within the reporting timetable
• Developing and implementing processes and systems controls to improve the quality of information and support the integrity of financial records
• Ensuring all journals relating to fixed assets including asseting, disposals and depreciation are correctly processed
• Assisting in the preparation of schedules that form part of the tax computations
• Preparing schedules where required for the annual external audit
• Providing information within agreed timescales to all customers (both internal and external)
What skills and experience do I need?
• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• CIMA, ACCA or ACA part qualified
• Experience of working in a finance function within a commercial environment
• Experience of working for a construction or infrastructure business (desirable)
• Up to date knowledge of technical accounting issues and regulations
• Advanced Excel
• Excellent commercial sense, with the ability to analyse information from different sources, and make informed business decisions
• Results orientated
• Highly organised, analytical, logical and numerical, with the ability to work without supervision
• Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail
• Self-motivated, driven and conscientious
• Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload, meet deadlines and delivery first-class customer service
• Ability to work well and think clearly under pressure
