Your new company
This consultancy has been established for over 5 decades and operate across multiple offices within the UK. They partner with the public sector within social housing, education, central and local government as well as within the private sector. Projects range from new build, refurbishment and maintenance programmes.
Due to projects being put on hold over the lockdown period and the subsequent restrictions being lifted, they are now looking for a Clerk of Works to work for their West London clients, the successful candidate will be overseeing a 200 unit development in Ealing and another in Harrow.
This company are not unique in what they do, but they give their staff the autonomy to work and the tools with systems, flexible working arrangements, and access to experienced leaders to do their job. There is clear progression for any level of staff to attain Partner or more Senior level through subsidised further education, professional training and the Partners have significant success of getting their staff through APC and becoming Chartered.
Flexible working arrangements are also promoted within the business, working from home and working from other offices are all encouraged, as long as the work is done. For this role, they will require someone to be site based at the aforementioned locations.
Your new role
In order to be considered for this role you will need have the following experience and qualifications; hold a construction related qualification such as NVQ, HNC, HND, C&Gs or equivalent. Ideally a member of the Institute of Clerk of Works and or Chartered Institute of Building. Be familiar with contractual requirements of Clerk of Works, Quality Control Inspector and the procedure and processes required within construction and contract. Working knowledge and understanding of JCT suite of contracts and NEC3. Have an understanding of current NHBC standards, Building Regulations and methods of construction, concrete and timber frame, traditional and modern methods of construction. Have knowledge of Low and High Rise residential construction. Hold a full driving licence and access to own vehicle for business use.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role you will need to have the following; knowledge of preparing fee proposals, H&S legislation and CDM Regulations, experience in Management of Small to Medium sized projects, identifying building defects and preparing specifications, working knowledge of IT systems and software such as MS Project, Office, & AutoCAD and knowledge of the JCT forms of Contract.
What you'll get in return
As part of the package for this role, you can expect a salary of up to £50k along with a 25 days holiday + bank holidays which goes up after 2+ years' service, professional fees paid for, pension options. Flexible working arrangements and the ability to work from home is also available.
