The Black Horse Inn are looking for a Junior Sous / Senior Chef de Partie with experience of working within a high level busy professional kitchen, someone who has worked with fresh food and someone who is creative and passionate in their cooking.
Key responsibilities:
• Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes
• Assisting the Sous Chef and Head Chef to develop new dishes and menus
• Responsibility to produce consistently high standard of food prepared in the kitchen
• Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
• Adhere to and maintain an excellent hygienic working environment, meeting all health and safety legislation
Personal Specification
• Excellent cooking skills and previous relevant experience
• Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
• Excellent time management abilities
• Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
• Clean PPE, Knives and Safety Shoes (essential)
45-55 hours per week
Hourly rate depending on experience.
We are not on public transport routes and the closest bus stop/ train station, is a 1 mile walk away, therefore own transport is essential.
The Black Horse offers 5.5 weeks holiday per year, weekly share of gratuities and company pension scheme
Successful applicants will be called in for a paid trial shift
