JOB TITLE:

Community Car Scheme Development Officer (1-year fixed term position)
Salary £19-20,000 based on experience, 37.5 hours a week based at Berwick House, Ashford Volunteer Centre

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Develop Ashford Volunteer Centre’s Community Car Scheme to be able to successfully support more people across the Borough of Ashford

WHO THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE TO:
Chief Executive Officer, Ashford Volunteer Centre

MAIN TASKS OF THE JOB:

Co-ordinating volunteer management (including recruitment, support, and timetabling) of the volunteers of the Volunteer Community Car Scheme
Implementing the new IT system for the Volunteer Community Car Scheme
Raising awareness of the Volunteer Community Car Scheme with stakeholders e.g. GP surgeries
Ensuring that the action plan and KPIs for this position are successfully completed.
Ensuring the Volunteer Community Car Scheme is run in line with the ethos, policies and procedures of Ashford Volunteer Centre
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

Passion for social inclusion and volunteering
Excellent communicator – including ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people by phone, email and face to face
Solution-focused
Excellent organisational skills
Able to work on own initiative and prioritise workload
Excellent time management skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Proficient in Microsoft 365/Office
Experience of supporting volunteers essential
Previous experience of databases essential
Full driving licence essential
Role is subject to a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (known as a DBS check)
