Northbourne Park School is an independent IAPS day and boarding school for boys and girls from Nursery to 13, set in beautiful parkland between Canterbury and Deal, Kent.
Housemistress
Required for September 2020
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and caring Housemistress to be part of our dedicated team of boarding staff. This is a residential term-time post with full board and accommodation provided on-site within the girls’ boarding house.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the welfare of up to thirty girls aged 8-13 who are full-time and flexi-boarders. The role also involves coordination of all boarders’ travel arrangements and deputising for the Head of Boarding in their absence.
This is an important, demanding and rewarding role, ideal for someone looking to pursue or further their career in pastoral leadership.
Reporting to the Head of Boarding, the Housemistress is responsible for the safety, good discipline and pastoral well-being of the boarders in their care. The successful candidate will also welcome the many opportunities to contribute to the lively extra-curricular life of the school and may be able to offer expertise in a particular area, such as drama or sport.
The salary range is £15,500 - £17,000 per annum, depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, and entitlement to the school’s Group Pension Scheme is included.
The school is committed to ongoing professional development and appropriate training will be available for the right candidate.
