Junior Warehouse and Maintenance Operative

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join Swale Heating’s Supply Chain and Transport department as a Junior Warehouse and Maintenance Operative.

Purpose of Role

The postholder will support the Stock Controller in maintaining the accuracy of all stock movement in and out of the warehouse, both manually and electronically via the In house stock control system. Assisting with the general maintenance of the Swale Heating site and providing additional support to the fleet department when required.

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

- 5 GCSE’s Grades A-C (level 9-4) or equivalent or able to show appropriate competence at this level
- Computer literate with good ICT skills, Office Suite, particularly Excel (essential)
- Experience of using stock control systems (preferred)
- Hands-on approach to managing and controlling stock
- Full UK driving license (Clean preferred, maximum of 3 points No driving bans in the last 5 years)
- Proven ability to work under pressure and to set deadlines

Key Tasks

- Day to day warehouse duties and keeping the warehouse in a presentable state.
- Head Office site maintenance, including yard cleaning, grass cutting and weeding.
- Collecting and processing parts return boxes
- Vehicle stock auditing – manually and recording within the stock control system.
- Stock picking of materials as required.
- Auditing the return of stock from employees leaving the business.
- Receiving deliveries into Swale Heating’s warehouse.
- Assisting with stock takes.
- Dealing with queries and assisting with the day to day operations of Swale equipment.
- Maintaining records electronically and in hardcopy form.
- Vehicle cleaning and carrying out vehicle checks.
- Driving duties as required
- Any other duties set by the Warehouse Manager.

Location:

This post is based at our Head Office (Sittingbourne). Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required.

Hours:

37.5 hours per week /7.5 hours per day Monday to Friday

- Core operating hours: 8am to 5:30pm (Variable start and finish times)

- Occasionally weekends – occasional overtime if necessary
