Technical Sales Manager - Video Surveillance

£55,000- £65,000 per annum

Working for an expanding technical business you will join a growing team based in Medway

The role will be to Identify, progress and close sales opportunities within the companies target market, focused on video surveillance products and services. The position includes all areas within the transportation sector with primary focus on UK Bus and Rail.

Key Duties

* Identify, qualify, price, plan, progress and close 'major account' sales opportunities for the company's video surveillance products and services. In line with allocated territory, budget and personal sales targets.
* To drive, monitor and assist the technical solution development. Continual communication with the Solutions and Engineering teams is essential.
* To ensure that technical solutions are proposed and communicated in a clear and appropriate way to the customer.
* Pro-actively manage the new business sales process to achieve/exceed company goals and targets in sectors through direct or existing and future sales channels.
* To proactively manage and continually improve client and partner relationships within the target market and agreed accounts. Ensure that relationships within the key customers are formed at all relevant levels and that relationships, which involve other personnel are given the correct attention.
* To map the opportunities in a clear way together with the decision makers and lodge into the CRM system
* To focus on increasing profitable, regular and consistent revenue streams in line with personal objectives and company strategy.
* Generate 'fit for purpose' customer proposals and business case benefits.
* Pro-actively develop lead-generation strategies for existing and potential new markets. In line with allocated personal objectives and strategic aims.
* Co-ordinate bid and contract / legal reviews with other personnel as required.
* Co-ordinate sales activities with sales director and hold regular review and catch up meetings.
* Ensure staff are responding quickly and correctly to enquiries.
* Support Marketing-led initiatives including attending trade shows and contributing to documentation where required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Experience within the transportation sector with in-depth knowledge of video surveillance solutions would be a benefit.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Good interpersonal communication and customer service skills are needed in order work successfully with prospects, customers, and cross functional teams to meet performance goals.
* Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilise them in a customer facing environment.
* To work within the organisation procedures.
* Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices.
* Creative approach to problem solving.
* Able to travel to the prospective customer's sites as necessary.
* Ability to get things done and fight through the fog.
* Ability to strategically plan and manage a sales approach for key bids.
* Experience of working in a similar customer facing sales position
* Proven experience of closing large value opportunities

25 days annual holiday per calendar year - increasing one day per year following completion of 2 years employment, then 1 additional day per year until a maximum of 28 days
