Data Protection and Privacy Manager
Salary: £50,000
Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
Location: Bessels Green, Kent
The Company:
The company are an innovative and entrepreneurial group of companies specialising in Motor Insurance Services. The successful candidate will assist the Data Protection Officer to provide data protection focused legal/regulatory advice and assistance.
Responsibilities:
Project Advisory and Assessments:
* Carry out initial project reviews using the Data Protection Impact Assessment process including advising project teams to ensure regulatory compliance is incorporated into plans at an early stage
* Liaise with internal project stakeholders throughout projects to ensure compliance
* Monitor post project to ensure Privacy advice was implemented appropriately
* Build trust and good professional relationships with key stakeholders
Breach and Complaints Management:
* Investigate complaints with a privacy issues then respond in a timely manner
* Work (in conjunction with the DPO as necessary) to investigate and manage data protection breach notifications (internal or external processor)
* Respond to ICO information requests
* Manage complaint and breach logs
* Investigate and develop defence responses to ICO complaints and information requests
* Support the business in developing appropriate remediation and prevention efforts
Other:
* Maintain relevant records of processing and other documents necessary to ensure compliance with GDPR (privacy policy, process documentation, Legitimate Interest Assessments etc.)
* Liaison with business and legal colleagues in respect of third party processors to ensure that they clearly understand and comply with the Group's privacy requirements
* Providing advice and direction to the marketing team in respect of personal marketing campaign
* Provide first line privacy support to internal customers, such as ad hoc DP internal queries including assistance with Data Subject Access Requests
* Support the DPO, Data Team and the Compliance team with the other DPA Programs (awareness, risk management, monitoring, etc.)
* Produce monthly MI
* Receive and collate all required statistics for Internal reporting
In addition you will be working with the DPO and the Data Team to continuously and proactively:
* Monitor changes in data protection legislation and guidance and working with key internal stakeholders (including IT Security) to establish and embed data protection best-practice across the Group.
* Monitor the status and effectiveness of privacy controls across our service offerings, ensuring that privacy-related key risk indicators are effectively monitored to prevent a negative impact on business objectives and reputation
* Update and re-evaluate the extent to which customer and employee information is collected and shared internally and externally
* Develop new and innovative strategies to address privacy and regulatory standards and requirements
Qualifications:
* Circa 2-3+ years' experience working in a large enterprise environment delivering privacy, compliance or information security projects
* Holding recognised privacy qualifications e.g. CIPP/E, CIPM, BCS is advantageous or willingness to work towards.
* Preferably legal qualification or educated to degree level
* Knowledge of ICO Guidelines, DPA rules and PECR rules
