Data Analyst
Salary to £60,000 depending on knowledge and experience

About the Company:
An independent, international insurance and reinsurance Lloyd's broker with headquarters in London and offices worldwide.

About the Role:
Join an IBA team to assist both Finance and Business Users in creating or running reports from its BI Reporting Tool (Tableau) in order to prepare timely and accurate Management Information. Ability to critically evaluate date, demonstrate problem solving skills and be able to interpret findings, present conclusions and communicate recommendations for better decision making.

Key Duties:
·Gathering reporting requirements and creating reports / dashboards using BI reporting tool whilst ensuring information is reconciled and accurate.
·Ensuring data synchronisation is being performed successfully along with data integrity / quality and working with third parties to resolve any issues.
·Understanding of data structures from core broking system
·Developing and producing management information reports
·Producing documentation for users and on-going internal support.
·Facilitating User Acceptance Testing and logging issues where necessary.
·Assistance with user support and providing training to non-technical users.
·Co-ordinating activities with divisional team members to ensure operational and management information is readily available.
·Accurate and timely preparation of daily and monthly reports and ad hoc reports.
·Ability to create insightful, visual and tabular based dashboards.
·Interpret and analyse data to identify key metrics.
·Liaise with internal and external auditors to supply requested reports and explain their findings.
·Provide sector and competitor benchmarking.
·Develop and support reporting processes.
·Monitor and audit data quality.
·Work with management to prioritise business and information needs.
·Assist in the development and production of internal MI and compliance with regulatory financial information.
·Set up and maintain automated data processes.

Key Knowledge and Skills
·Experienced data analyst with an insurance (ideally broking) background including requirements capture and documentation.
·Knowledge and experience of BI reporting tools, ideally Tableau.
·Microsoft SQL Server experience writing queries, data extraction and data warehouse.
·Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
·Engage with users and senior stakeholders.
·Work closely with third party suppliers.
·An appreciation of current IT technologies and able to discuss and explain to Stakeholders with limited technical knowledge.
·Authority and skill to establish good working relationships at all levels of seniority within the company.
·Takes initiative when appropriate and ensures that the correct people are involved to reach a suitable decision.
·Attention to detail
·Excellent written and verbal communication
·Advanced Excel knowledge
·Be able to interpret data in order to draw conclusions for managerial action and strategy
·Strong analytical skills
·A key interest in the Finance area of a business would be beneficial.
