A global market leader in the Kent area are looking for a Procurement Lead with indirect experience.
You will be responsible for all aspects of procurement activity associated with procuring a designated range of materials, capital goods and site services at optimum cost to ensure the smooth running of the site and supporting the production facility.
You will be reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager and will be responsible for the transactional and strategic procurement activity primarily for the supply of goods and services for the sites revenue and capital expenditure as well as having accountability for purchasing activities both strategic and operational and be the "go to" person for all non inventory purchases.
You will also be tasked to systematically review all purchase requisitions and contracts for site purchases to ensure best practice and value for money, identifying areas of improvement, cost reduction and ensuring continuous improvement for all goods and services.
Another key part of the role will be the day-to-day creation of purchase orders ensuring favourable terms-and conditions to meet company and internal customer needs ensuring goods and services are delivered to agreed budgets, quality expectations, service level agreements on time.
In addition to this you will be expected to manage the current VMI system and identify improvements to add additional parts to reduce and eliminate inventory levels to ensure product availability to internal customers as well as manage supplier relationships (SRM) to ensure continuity of supply and agreed SLAs are met, taking action where necessary.
You will also be required to ensure that the ERP system is maintained in order to control non inventory parts by using best practice and tools and develop an approved supplier list for non-inventory goods and services.
