We are looking for a highly motivated Family Advisor to join our Family Advice Team
The role is to assist the Family Advice Manager in the development and delivery of a comprehensive information, advice and emotional support service responsive to the holistic needs of parents of disabled children and young people. Providing support to families in the process of acquiring if appropriate Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans or support during the annual review process of an existing EHC plan. Ensuring that parents and where appropriate disabled young people, have information, understanding and support, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future.
Main duties
• To support parents to manage the challenges related to their child’s disability and life opportunities.
• To develop and facilitate support groups for parents.
• To support parents at 1 to 1 meetings.
• To facilitate advice clinics for families.
• To work with other agencies to ensure the delivery of a high quality service.
• To facilitate training courses on behalf of the charity.

Successful applicants will need the ability to quickly absorb the necessary legal training and other policy background and to be able to operate robustly and independently.
We are seeking a fun, outgoing and inspirational type of person for the role.
Use of own car is essential for travel in the local area.
