Duties include:
• To promote the independence and individuality of residents and create support plans which encourage residents to participate as fully as possible in the running of the home and the wider community.
• To assist in providing a stimulating environment by initiating and helping with recreational, creative or social activities, and encouraging involvement in the community.
• To develop a trusting relationship with each resident and to assist in assessing individual needs and compiling a support plan with other staff.
• To escort or accompany residents on outside activities, hospital/doctors appointments, church services etc.
• To assist and come along-side residents as they take part in the general cleaning and upkeep of their rooms, their personal washing, and other parts of the house.
