Ta’Dah! Here it is, the marketing and business development job every graduate has ever wanted! Well… it’s a job working in marketing/brand development with a sprinkling of business growth.


So, what are we looking for? Well, we are seeking someone super organised, dynamic and someone with a good marketing brain on them. We are a group of diverse companies each built on our ethos of integrity, empowerment and understanding. One day is never the same as the last and we need someone who is prepared to roll their sleeves up and help us take our business to the next level.


As a business, we believe in people first, therefore where possible we offer flexible working with lots of perks (including as much coffee as you can handle!).


So, what will you be doing? You will be working on marketing campaigns across the businesses, keeping our social media fresh, as well as fostering and developing key partnerships and stakeholder relationships.


You will have a desk at our Whitstable HQ (CT5). However, you will also be expected to visit our various outlets across the county as we continue to expand.


We have called it an executive role as we are ideally looking for someone who wants to develop their career in the PR/Marketing/Digital industry. We are after fresh ideas and bags of enthusiasm. Whilst some marketing and PR experience is important we are looking for enthusiasm and a willingness to learn over everything else. You will basically get to get involved in all things marketing/PR and digital.


In terms of experience, we look for ideas and creativity more than experience, however, we would expect you know a bit about social media on (at least) a personal level (use on a business level preferred). You must be able to think strategically and see how social media fits into a business’ marketing strategy, not just “selling” to our customers, but building long-lasting relationships by providing value to them.


The right person for us must be able to assist in formulating social media plans (once ample information is provided to you) and then carry them out (with our assistance). You must be able to measure and document the impact of social media, and then suggest action-steps to increase impact, you will also want to learn or have some knowledge of PPC.


Any experience of the Adobe suite of programmes would be a huge advantage as we would like basic video edited and you will be in charge of sending people the logo in that specific format thingy they require.


It is impossible to list everything but we would expect you to be performing the following tasks:

• Managing the companies Social Media, researching new technologies and creative to engage our range of customers and stakeholders
• Attend meetings with key stakeholders and partners, auctioning tasks within the business
• Producing engaging digital content (Video, blogs, pictures etc)
• Organise client-facing activities/marketing campaigns at our outlets
• Finding users to follow/friend/like our business
• Oversee elements of our marketing activity across the company
• Blog outreach
• Make sure our brand application is applied correctly and become a custodian of our brand
• Write and distribute press releases
• Write design and creative briefs
• Create paid campaigns
• Offer marketing and branding support to our small team
• Administrative tasks related to the brand development


The skills and attributes you will be expected to have:


• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing skills
• Be creative with an eye for design
• Ability to develop a detailed and professional marketing plan
• Knowledge of digital media software – Photoshop or other graphic design software, etc. is preferred
• Knowledge of video editing software – iMovie, Final Cut, Adobe Premier is a plus
• Knowledge of social media – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogs, etc.
• Willingness to create video blogs, write press releases, and Facebook posts daily
• Energy, with a desire to come up with fresh ideas on how to grow our online presence
• Ability to identify a target market and “speak” to that consumer through social media
• Experience proofreading and editing
• Ability to deal with uncertainty
• Ability to contribute individually and participate in cross-functional teams
• Well-presented and happy to attend meetings on behalf of the company
