Engineering Apprenticeship opportunities are available at HV Wooding Ltd
HV Wooding Ltd has been established in Hythe, Kent for nearly 50 years. Our core skills are in the manufacture of metal pressings, copper busbars, laser cutting and wire erosion, supplying some of Europe’s largest manufacturers with components & assemblies.
We are currently offering apprentices for those that have a genuine interest in Engineering and are looking for a career within our industry.
We have openings for these opportunities within the following areas QC, Tool Making and the Press Shop.
QC – The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that components produced are of the best quality and correct to customer specifications. You must be prepared to move around the company‘s three quality areas in order to build up an all-round knowledge of QC procedures for this position.
Tool Maker - The Tool Maker is responsible for the repair and modification of tooling. The Tool Maker needs to ensure that all work carried out is of good quality and meets the needs of both design and production in its functionality. The Tool Maker will also be required to assist in the continuous improvement of tooling by means of experience and knowledge gained from the history of past problems and tool repairs. The Tool Maker must ensure that all work schedules and work completed are done in order to satisfy customer demands whilst enabling the delivery of high-quality components.
Press setter - The Press Setter is responsible for ensuring that all presses and other equipment are set in a safe and reliable way as detailed in the Health & Safety regulations, whilst maintaining optimum production levels. The Setter will be working to schedules ensuring that operators and other resources are being used in the most efficient manner to meet the required targets in order to satisfy customer demands.
The Apprenticeship will be over a 4-year period and will consist of a day release to Canterbury College and full in-house training delivered by qualified engineers.
For all of the apprenticeships being offered you will need -
• Good organisational skills
• Be able to demonstrate good problem-solving abilities
• Have attention to detail
• Be able to prioritise and use your time effectively
• Have a flexible approach to your work
• Completion of a PEO would be an advantage
