Or perhaps you’re coming to the end of your training year and are looking to join a supportive academy in which to complete your NQT year and really develop your teaching career?

Cherry Orchard Primary Academy has a truly fantastic opportunity to appoint a Class Teacher who will work within the Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) from September 2019. This is a brand new position as we continue to expand our teaching team and pupil numbers since opening in September 2017. Our SRP, ‘The Oaks’, caters for children with speech, language and/or communication needs (SLCN) and is lead by our highly experienced and knowledgeable teacher, Mrs. Pinto. Our successful candidate will work directly with Mrs. Pinto to plan a highly differentiated curriculum for both our pupils’ mainstream classes and the Resource Provision. Pupils split their time between their mainstream year group class, where access to the curriculum is applicable and have 1:2 or very small group work when in the Oaks. Cued articulation, visual resources, and signing are used extensively across the academy, in both mainstream and within the provision. Wherever possible, students from the SRP are encouraged to join in all social and whole school activities; such as assemblies, singing practice, play/ lunch times and topic work. Our ideal candidate will have:

- Qualified Teacher Status, or be eligible to enroll on a teacher training course for September 2019 (click here to view the entry criteria)
- Evidence of excellent practice as a classroom teacher or member of support staff
- Experience in teaching or supporting teaching across all stages of the primary sector and, in particular, demonstrate how they have been able to meet the needs of children with SEN/D
- The highest expectations of pupils and themselves
- Enthusiasm, imagination and a forward-thinking approach
- An ability to inspire, motivate and engage children to achieve and succeed
- The ability to form positive relationships with children, staff, parents and governors
-Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
