Event Assistant & Security Door Supervisor
We have an exciting opportunity at The Historic Dockyard Chatham, the world’s most complete dockyard from the age of sail.
Working across our Event and Security teams, helping to deliver events to a high standard and assisting in security operations on site.
You will be required to work on Hospitality & Events onsite as well as provide “as required” cover to our full time Security Team.
• To deliver excellent standards and exceeding the expectations of the Trust, our clients and guests on every occasion.

• Take direct instruction from and work closely with the Events and Hospitality Operations Manager to set-up and clear down events in a timely fashion to high standards While also providing a presence as a licensed SIA Door Supervisor during the event.

• Be flexible and available, on an as required basis (including weekend and late-night working), and willing to work at short notice on occasion.

• Be available to provide cover for the Security Team, for holidays and sickness, reporting to the Security Team Leaders.

• When covering for the Security Team be responsible to the Security Team Leaders for the day to day security provision for the historic estate, collections and the safety and welfare of visitors, tenants and residents.

• Take a hands-on and pro-active approach in all elements of their role.

• To be aware of maintenance and presentation standards, reporting all deficiencies promptly. To monitor and report lack of progress.

• As required to attend events and activities, to assist in overseeing quality of delivery, security and health and safety requirements, whether by staff, contractors or guests

• Able to work a flexible roster including evening and weekend work where necessary.

• Be aware and understand all relevant guidelines, policies and health & safety paperwork issued.

• Such other duties as may be reasonably requested.

Application Criteria
Essential elements:
• A current SIA licence – (Level 2 Door Supervisor).

Preferred elements:
• Experience within the hospitality industry
• Experience within the security industry
• A full clean driving license

Desirable elements:
• CCTV operation and monitoring
• BIIAB Award in Cellar Quality (or equivalent)
• A current First Aid at Work qualification
