I am currently recruiting for a client with a current annual turnover approaching £35 million and employing over 200 people across two UK production sites.
They are an integrated packaging manufacturing and food contract packing business with a number of specialty services, well-established in niche markets, all of which demand high levels of customer service. The majority of sales are in the UK with clients being a mix of both global corporate blue chip and owner managed SMEs.
There sales team is target driven and well-regarded in the industry. They are looking for the next generation to come through the ranks and succeed in a role that can be both demanding and pressurised.
If you are a confident communicator and enjoy the challenge of working towards targets then this trainee opportunity could be for you.
Uppermost though, we are looking for an individual with an excess of initiative and ingenuity, combined with tenacity and a massive drive to succeed.
Sales and Business development Executive role
• Learns sales administration by completing rotation in sales office functions.
• Learns sales process by completing training programmes.
• Observes sales process by travelling with sales representatives.
• Practices sales process by calling on existing and then new accounts, adhering to established sales steps.
• Self-generate sales leads through networking, referrals and warm/cold calling.
• In time, achieve a minimum number of customer meetings per week to ensure a regular pipeline of new business.
Skills and Attitude
• The ability and desire to sell.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A positive, confident and determined approach.
• Resilience and the ability to cope with rejection.
• A high degree of self-motivation and ambition, a self-starter.
• The skills to work both independently and as part of a team.
• The capability to flourish in a competitive environment.
• A creative and innovative approach to problem solving.
• A good level of numeracy.
• Self- driven with a flexible approach to workflow.
• Professional and smart.
• A full driving licence.
