Reporting to the UK Country HR Manager, the HR Manager will act as a first point of contact for all people-related matters ensuring the highest level of services for employees and managers. Advising on overall human resources policies and procedures, this role will be instrumental in the delivery of the people strategy and will involve designing HR processes to improve employee relations and encourage employee engagement.
The post-holder will work closely with the UK Country HR Manager and UK Technical Centre Manager to implement changes and champion people-led initiatives and practices that constantly create a culture of improvement and inclusivity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities of the HR Manager will include but are not limited to:
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to drive leadership development and talent management initiatives, and implement corporate HR strategy.
- Advise and support Managers and Supervisors with employee relations cases including disciplinaries, grievances, attendance meetings and performance issues.
- Oversee the monthly payroll cycle for overtime and sickness absence data entry, and collecting and preparing all paperwork and deal with any payroll queries
- Analyse and understand retention and turnover of staff, including managing KPIs.
- Annual and ad-hoc pay-rate benchmarking
- Support the UK Country HR Manager in implementing an annual engagement survey and reporting of findings
- Reviewing and updating job descriptions and job skills matrix
- Oversee departmental administration
- Support audit requirements
- Provide line management, leadership and coaching to the HR Administrator
- Assist with Year In Industry and Graduate Open Days and recruitment when necessary
PROJECT WORK
- Key-player in the Women in sector initiative
- Collaborate on the design and implementation of a new graduate program and pay review structure
- Reducing attrition
- Improving motivation & morale in the workplace
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- An understanding of the flexible demands of a busy and fast-moving HR department
- CIPD qualified to level 7, or relevant experience
- Advanced working knowledge of UK and EU employment law
- Knowledge of general IT systems and applications including spreadsheets, word processing and databases
- Experience of working with and implementing HR systems.
- Previous administration skills and ability to work to and apply set procedures
- Experience of complex ER cases and applying legislation to ER situations.
- Demonstrable experience in building relationships quickly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to engage and liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Proven analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work autonomously
- Ability to prioritise a demanding workload and multi-tasking
- Excellent time management
- Desirable
- 5 years plus business experience
- Previous experience of working in a multi-site role
- Working with budgets
