Sleeping Giant Media are looking for a brand new Giant to join a developing team, helping analyse data for clients, and train others how to get the best results from what you develop.

Good decisions start from an understanding of the context and environment. The best way to get this is from data. Data is just information in its raw form, understanding how to interpret that into actionable insight is a skill that will take you from making guesses to making informed decisions.

We have built a data team to help our core services make more informed decisions and as we have grown - so has the amount of data we need to analyse! We're looking for someone who can take data and pick it apart so we can learn from it, develop it, and put it to work for our clients!

In the data team we work with a lot of highly transferable skills. Some of these may seem niche, but they are all vital whether you are in Sales, Project management, general management, purchasing - anything!
- Data Science - This is all about asking the right questions and presenting that data so it can be analysed
- Data analysis - This is all about understanding what the data says, making hypotheses that can be tested and through this gaining actionable insight
- Measurement Planning - This is a process of understanding what really matters and whittling the large range of potential metrics down to those that really matter
- Building Dashboards and visualising data - this is how data is visualised
- Spreadsheet and Formula Skills - Google sheets allows some amazing time saving and automations that will help make many things easier
- Project Management - Understanding how to organise and manage a project is a vital skill for any data project, we have some working processes that help us stay on top of some fairly technical projects that inolve people from various walks of life (from the marketing team, business owners to developers we deal with a broad cross section of any business)
- Communication - The use of data is all about learning what really matters (context) and communicating that [insight] through various methods. It starts with communication to understand what matters and leads into communicating the insights from the data. This is also done across various levels of the business.
- Coding languages - Gain understanding in languages like Regex, HTML, Javascript, jQuery and other coding languages, starting from a very basic level is fine and detailed understanding is not required, but cannot hurt.
