Gerrard White is currently recruiting for an AWS Cloud Engineer to join a market leading FTSE 100 Company with the opportunity to be involved in exciting and groundbreaking project utilising the latest emerging technologies.

Joining the Digital Department, this is an opportunity for a Cloud AWS Digital Systems Engineer to be responsible for building, maintaining and supporting infrastructure solutions for engineering teams within Digital and feed in to the infrastructure architectural solutions for new and proposed projects.

This will include assisting with the move from an on premises infrastructure to an AWS Public Cloud which will be server-less utilising LAMBDA and Filegate, Load Balancers and Docker and Containerisation.

We are looking for someone who is dedicated and will seek to identify improvements and efficiencies, while utilising new technologies and existing tools. You will lead the architecture and technical system innovation and excellence within all system engineering activities across Digital.

Key tasks:

* Carry out system reviews to ensure accordance with architectural principles set out by and agreed within the team.
* Ensure capability is consistently shared across the team and, where appropriate, across other engineering teams.
* Work with third parties to resolve infrastructure issues in existence and proactively engage with vendors to ensure continued availability of systems for which the team is responsible.
* Ensure that tasks which can be automated are automated to drive down cost and improve agility.
* Ensure all activity conforms to, at a minimum, industry best practise and where prescribed by Digital, or the wider organisation, conformity meets our prescribed standards for: Security, Compliance, Data Protection
* Support change management procedures as part of production releases
* Support Agile delivery principles across all of Digital ensuring standard methodology adoption around Continuous Integration, Scrum, Kanban, Continuous Delivery, DevOps and Change Management.
* Support and advise peers (Application Delivery, Engineering Managers, Solution Designers, Business Analysts etc.) to ensure the proposed solution fits with the overall system design principles and requirements are delivered.



Essential Skills

* Systems engineering (implementation) capability (Hosting infrastructure, Networking, Security, Engineering Tools, Analytics etc.).
* Agile system engineering experience (competent and capable).
* Commercial experience with AWS / Cloud Formation
* Experience with ALB / ELB
* Lambda
* Docker and Containerisation
* Infrastructure as a Code
* CI/CD Pipelines (Jenkins etc)

This position may be suitable for someone who has worked in the following roles: DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer . The position will be based in Bromley, 20 minutes from London Victoria. There are also flexible working opportunities available within this role.
