ACB is a market-leading radioactive waste management company based on the 20/20 Business Park in Aylesford, Kent. We are seeking an organised, self-motivated and highly enthusiastic individual to join our team, working primarily with our non-radioactive wastes.

The successful applicant must be capable of using their own initiative and possess good communication skills and a personable nature. They must also have a proactive character, willingness to learn, be hardworking, trustworthy, and demonstrate a methodical and conscientious approach to work with an impeccable time keeping record. ACB is very much a team environment where everyone supports each other to provide the platform for effective and productive output.

A knowledge of waste management and experience of working in a warehouse environment sorting and segregating materials will be a distinct advantage. However, as a Company we pride ourselves in developing individuals who do not possess these skills at the recruitment stage. All successful candidates will have a thorough and rigorous personalised training package to aid their development within the Company.

All applicants must meet the following criteria:

Mandatory:
• Well organised, with excellent attention to detail
• Clear and legible handwriting
• Fluent English
• Over 25 years of age
• Eligible to work continuously in the UK
• Non-smoker; ACB is a non-smoking company
• Full UK driving licence, preferably with own transport (for a minimum of two years)

General:
• Excellent understanding of written English
• Ability to communicate at all levels
• Team player
• Pleasant and courteous
• Must be physically fit

The role will include:
• Work as a Waste Assistant
• Sort, segregation, dismantling, label defacing, and packaging of non-radioactive wastes for disposal/recycling
• Manual handling
• Forklift truck operation

Working hours:
• 08:30 – 17:30 Monday to Friday with breaks for lunch

Payment and benefits:
• £22,000 per annum
• Health insurance (after qualifying period)
• 30 days holiday including bank and public holidays per year
• NEST Pension contributions (if eligible)
