Apply to be Marketing Officer at Tree of Hope Children's Charity- we help families nationally to fundraise for operations, equipment and therapies not funded by the UK health economy. We are a small team of 10 people passionate about what we do and are based close to the station in Tonbridge. The job involves all aspects of marketing and PR and you will be promoting events, our services, the stories of our families to help them fundraise and be able to use your creativity to make a real difference to a vital charity.

Reports to: CEO and works closely with fundraising

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: £25,000 dependent upon experience

Holiday entitlement: 22 days plus 8 public holidays, there are 3 additional discretionary days given between Christmas and New Year.

Job Purpose:

The Marketing Officer is responsible for developing and managing all social media, marketing and PR activity for the charity and the families we support. The role includes working with the CEO and the Fundraising Manager across all aspects of marketing and social media and is a varied and busy role. Interaction with the families we support and helping them to deal with the difficult issues many of them face is a part of the role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Social media planning, scheduling and recording of all marketing KPI’s

• Developing and managing all paid social media advertising campaigns

• Creating videos for presentations and social media and working with families to get video footage of their child’s progress to use for marketing purposes

• Designing of social graphics, newsletters, posters and other branded documents using InDesign

• Creating marketing strategy and mini strategies for specific campaigns working with the CEO and Fundraising Managers

• Updating the Website with new content (WordPress)

• Liaising with agencies regarding SEO, PPC and web development

• Creating content for the website/newsletters, and liaising with other contributors

• Supporting families with social media and PR and marketing advice

• Writing, coordinating and developing PR activity and contacting publications and media locally and nationally to promote Tree of Hope and the families we support

• Writing and distributing bulk Emails to beneficiaries and supporters

• Promotion of events and campaigns for families and fundraisers

• Ordering marketing materials and liaising with suppliers



Person Specification

• Experienced in managing web, PR, social media and marketing, although not necessarily in a charity

• Empathy with the issues faced by our families and their need to fundraise

• Strong written and verbal presentation and communication ability

• Good organiser and time manager with CRM and IT expertise, ideally with a knowledge of InDesign

• Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and networking skills

• Ability to meet marketing deadlines, targets and budgets.

• Full driving licence and access to car

• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as required to support marketing and occasional fundraising activity
